David Beaty

school administrator and Director of Technology in Seoul, South Korea

I’m a highly motivated professional with a broad background that includes 12+ years of admin experience in international schools (19 years overall in international education) as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills. I’m completely at home teaching a professional development session for faculty, running meetings and facilitating groups, presenting to boards and working with students while at the same time managing tech support, library, instructional coach teams and communications.

I love working with people and am passionate about educational leadership. I especially enjoy the exciting variety that working with faculty and technology brings every day. I find great joy in leading faculty and teams toward a stronger educational community.

I’ve heard it said that you don’t just hire a person, you hire their network. From school administrators around the globe to the NESA, ECIS, EARCOS, Learning2.0 and COETAIL communities, to loads of communities online (many connected via Twitter and Instagram) to the wonderful staff at my own school, my PLN is a major part of my professional life. I thrive on these places where I get to learn new ideas and share some of my own. In every school where I have worked, it’s always been my goal to be a “lead learner”.
